Michel Bauwens
Belgian theorist and pioner philosopher on the "new economy" and the P2P practices, former director of strategy at Belgacom, consultant and networks theorist. Michel Bauwens currently lives in Thailand as a result of applying downshifting theories. He has temporarily left the stressful working world to devote himself to writing. He believes it is time for the transition from industrial capitalism to cognitive capitalism; peer-to-peer exchange networks (mainly used to share music and movies) contain the seeds of a new form of civilization whose first concrete realization is open software movement.

He is responsible for the Peer to Peer Foundation along with James Burke.
