txt : The first edition of Open Radio, in July 2002, demonstrated the great creative potential that exists in the world of alternative radio, and amply illustrated that there is room for another type of radio in today's programming schedules. The aim of Open Radio '03 is to open up a number of new ways of experimenting with types, formats, content and artistic language, whilst taking into account the new technologies available to us. Open Radio is a forum which is designed to get the most out of participants' creativity, communication of knowledge, to arouse debate and to take an in depth look at the world of radio today and the role it plays in the information media in society.
This last edition has been marked by the impact of the Open Air Radio station set up in the Raval Quarter:
Once again, Platoniq is the driving force behind this type of street level radio, a meeting point between FM radio and internet radio: A continuous broadcast set up in the street "Rambla del Raval, from 10 00 to 22 00 all five days of the event has given local people a chance to make themselves heard and air their views. Live international programming over the Internet have been mixed with programs referring to the activities of the festival, which are directed from the hall of the CCCB and in the street. A sound system enables broadcasts to be heard in the street.

The station had on hand a large number of collaborators, among whom are:
Ultra-red (San Francisco), ABC Ulwazi (South Africa), Basic.ch(Geneva), Microbio (Venezuela), Boombox (Berne), Tobias c. van Veen (Canada), Abatar 41º (Italy), Mou-lips (Italy), Trace Reddell (Denver), Tim Jaeger (San Diego),Andrey Kiritchenko (Ukraine), Powerbook for peace (Leeds), John Hopkins (Baltimore), Enoughrecords (Portugal): http://openserver.cccb.org
