Antonio Lafuente (born in Granada) is a researcher at the Center for Humanities and Social Sciences at CSIC in the area of Studies of Science. He has worked in the colonial expansion of science and the relationship between science, its audience and lay knowledge. More recently, he has investigated the relationship between technology and commons, as well as the links between new and old patrimonies. His interest in common properties has led him to study the problems posed by the spread of intellectual property rights in the science field, as well as to analyze the implications of these concepts: governance, open knowledge, participation, democracy, art, biz science and scientific culture. He is a publisher of Tecnocidanos blog. His latest book is "The Carnival of Technoscience" ("El carnaval de la tecnociencia", Madrid: Gadir, 2007). Other documents can be found at CSIC’s digital institutional database.
