How to Shape a Future of Participation in the Wikimedia Movement

We were commissioned to draft a white paper exploring what more participatory governance within Wikimedia might look like. The white paper aims to foster inclusive and accessible community participation based on the strategic direction of the Wikimedia Movement. It provides a historical overview, an ethical framework that prioritizes marginalized voices, an analysis of key issues and best practices, case studies, and recommendations for designing a participatory process. The goal is to support community participation and provide tools and models to promote it.
