Goteo: A Crowdfunding and Civic Advocacy Platform

Goteo is more than just a crowdfunding platform; it is a barometer of the needs of a more collaborative and transparent society. In an increasingly polarized world—a direct consequence of the proliferation of fake news and the rise of the far right, coupled with climate change denial and conspiracy theories—Goteo remains the community-driven crowdfunding platform that helps us all build the future together.

Community

  • Goteo is a project incubator that develops and connects good ideas with the contexts that need them;
  • an online social network that enables micro-donations from the public, institutions, and companies to innovative projects of their choice: an alternative funding channel in line with new digital models;
  • an efficient, open, and productive platform capable of connecting initiatives, creators, and entrepreneurs with people in their community: a meeting place for citizen participation in future social and cultural agendas;
  • a crowdvocacy tool that drives the transformation of public institutions by promoting citizen advocacy.

Our data speaks for itself: more than 21 million euros redistributed among the 2,022 projects funded to date, and 350,000 people working together to make it happen. With an 84% success rate. Yes, 84%.

At Goteo, we don’t just offer funding—we’re a team of people who support projects and guide them every step of the way. We facilitate partnerships and build a community around each campaign.

We are transparent, rigorous (of the 9,796 projects received, 2,654 were ultimately published), and committed to the Social and Solidarity Economy and social transformation.
